Promoting your business with business cards
Just recently I decided to get some business cards made to promote my business with IPAS2 and Empower Network.
At first I wasn't sure if that was going to be a good idea but, it turned out to be.
The first thing I did was to try and figure out what kind of business card image I should use. What would be an eye-catching card that would get to the point without too much glitter?
So I started by imagining a beginning to end kind of thought and then remembered my daughter had recently painted me a rainbow with a pot-of-gold at the end. That picture would work well and then I worked backwards thinking how I could use a rainbow on my card to show how one could get earn lots of money.
I decided to use a picture of a person working on a computer with a rainbow starting from there ending up with a pot-of-gold.
Although, I didn't use that and instead I used a golden ring with my domain name, WorkWithWalt.com displayed along with my phone number.
I then sent the sketch over to a designer at Fiverr.com which resulted in a pretty good image for only $5.00. I then sent the jpg image over to VistaPrint.com who generated 500 business cards for less than $10.00!
So, why am I telling you all this?
The reason is that I am now getting results from people visiting my page by just handing out my business cards in my everyday routines. Offline recruiting is actually very effective because people engage with you upfront and can learn about your business first hand.
For example, I went to the store the other day and, while at the cash register, I noticed the cashier girl was busy and sort of liking her job.
I asked her, "How long have you been working here?" She replied, "A long time". Then I said "Wow, you must love your job". She answered with a "Nahhh"
Then I asked her if she would be interested in a side project where she could earn extra money as long as it didn't interfere with her work. She said sure! So, I handed her my business card and told her to visit the website listed on it or call me for more information.
Well she did both. Not only that, she registered for a 7-day trial period with the IPAS2 system!!
Since then I've been leaving my business cards at gas stations, shopping carts, college campuses, etc and I'm getting leads. What's great about all this is that it gives you practice with your sales pitch resulting in a more confident approach.
Try handing out a business card everyday and you'll be amazed at your results!
Have a great day!
